McLEAN, VA - Saira Stahl has been named vice president of
strategy at Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI), where she will
be responsible for the recently established, Program
Management Office, effective April 23. She will support the
company's strategic initiatives and coordinate
cross-functional teams as they deliver on key priorities
identified by the Gannett Leadership Team (formerly Gannett
Management Committee).
Stahl currently is the vice president of operations and
communications at Gannett Digital. In her new role, Stahl
will report to Gracia Martore, president and CEO at
Gannett.

content and services across an integrated, multi-platform
portfolio. Saira's demonstrated ability to work across
divisions makes her an excellent selection for this
position," said Martore. "Working closely with Gannett's

oversight and management of our transformation efforts
during this critical time."
As the vice president of strategy, Stahl will drive
alignment across all business units to achieve maximum
results. She will head up Program Management efforts, which
will focus on providing strategic advice on initiatives
tied to the 2012 strategic plan and beyond.

Prior to joining Gannett, Stahl was the director of
business development at AOL, LLC, from 2002-2007, where she
was responsible for driving new revenue for several
categories within the AOL portfolio, including AOL.com,
Moviefone and City Guide. During her tenure, Stahl served
as senior manager from
2001-2002 and manager from 2000-2001.
Before joining AOL, she was a manager at Ernst & Young
where she managed a team responsible for strategic
initiatives for Ernst & Young's Critical Technologies
Division, among other duties.
Stahl started her career at Chemical Bank (currently JP
Morgan Chase) and holds a B.A. in Economics from Smith
College and a MBA from the University of Virginia, Darden
School of Business.
