Gas Malaysia Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported revenues were MYR 973,565,000 against MYR 795,011,000 a year ago. Profit before zakat and taxation was MYR 49,774,000 against MYR 43,569,000 a year ago. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 38,974,000 or 3.04 sen diluted per share against MYR 33,679,000 or 2.62 sen diluted per share a year ago. The better performance is due to the upward revision of natural gas tariffs which took effect in January 2016 and higher volume of gas sold in the current quarter. For the six months, the company reported revenues were MYR 1,934,603,000 against MYR 1,556,594,000 a year ago. Profit before zakat and taxation was MYR 89,447,000 against MYR 81,406,000 a year ago. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 70,353,000 or 5.48 sen diluted per share against MYR 62,169,000 or 4.84 sen diluted per share a year ago. Net cash flow generated from operating activities was MYR 321,937,000 against MYR 54,624,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 43,380,000 against MYR 30,389,000 a year ago.
