March 31 (Reuters) - Russian GAZ truck maker, part of tycoon Oleg Deripaska's business empire, may reduce working hours at its plants in the Nizhny Novgorod region in the period from May to November, TASS news agency reported on Thursday, citing a regional official.

"Due to a fall in production volumes at GAZ plants a switch to a four-day working week is possible between May 19 and November 18," Yegor Polyakov, a deputy governor for the Nizhny Novgorod region, was quoted as saying. (Reporting by Reuters Editing by Gareth Jones)
