(Alliance News) - Giglio.com Spa announced Thursday that it has entered into a partnership with Vestiaire Collective, an international leader in second-hand fashion, for a circular economy project aimed at promoting conscious consumption.

"Giglio.com takes an important new step in its sustainable development strategy by opening up the possibility for its customers to resell iconic garments from their wardrobe," the company commented.

It is an online re-sale service, offered by Vestiaire Collective to Giglio.com customers, to give a second life to garments that are no longer worn and invites more conscious shopping experiences, reducing waste. About 50 high fashion brands among the most purchased on Giglio.com, "suitable for a second life precisely because they are timeless and far from the disposable logic of fast fashion," will be involved in the initiative.

"This prestigious partnership naturally marries the value path we are pursuing in terms of environmental sustainability and raising the fashion industry's awareness of the circular economy. Offering the opportunity for our customers to give a second life to their garments represents another step toward a more conscious shopping experience, which reinforces our positioning as forerunners of industry trends," commented Giuseppe Giglio, president and CEO of Giglio.com.

"We are excited to continue to partner with key industry players to shape a more sustainable future. As our collective grows, so does our positive impact on the fashion industry. Today, we are delighted to welcome Giglio.com on this circular journey and count it among our resale partners," said Dounia Wone, Chief Impact Officer of Vestiaire Collective.

Giglio.com's stock is up 0.8 percent at EUR2.40 per share.
