Grupo Clarín S.A. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was ARS 27,144.56 million compared to ARS 28,980.47 million a year ago. Net loss was ARS 316.28 million compared to net income of ARS 148.38 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was ARS 2.96 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of ARS 1.39 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was ARS 55,319.41 million compared to ARS 55,594.75 million a year ago. Net income was ARS 996 million compared to ARS 284.57 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was ARS 9.33 compared to ARS 2.67 a year ago.
Grupo Clarin SA is an Argentina-based company principally engaged in the provision of television (TV) cable services. The Companyâs activities are structured in four business segments: Cable TV and Internet Access, which operates a cable TV network in Latin America and provides broadband Internet services; Printing and Publishing, which focuses on the production and distribution of national and regional newspapers, as well as magazines, supplements, books, collectible products and other periodical publications; Broadcasting and Programming, which includes a variety of TV channels, radio stations and entities active in the content production and provision of advertising services, as well as Digital Content and Others, which creates, hosts and manages a variety of Websites, on-line portals and digital platforms for mobile phones, among others.
