Grupo Palacio de Hierro, S.A.B. De C.V. Announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was MXN 8,211.581 million compared to MXN 2,316.164 million a year ago. Operating income was MXN 414.255 million compared to operating loss of MXN 900.731 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 185.248 million compared to net loss of MXN 772.710 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was MXN 0.52 compared to basic loss per share of MXN 2.02 a year ago. For the half year, sales was MXN 14,399.247 million compared to MXN 9,163.076 million a year ago. Operating loss was MXN 32.582 million compared to MXN 664.748 million a year ago. Net loss was MXN 257.539 million compared to MXN 682.308 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was MXN 0.63 compared to MXN 1.76 a year ago.
Grupo Palacio de Hierro SAB De CV is a Mexico-based holding company primarily engaged in the retail sector. The Companyâs main activities include the operation of a network of department stores, outlets, home furnishing and accessories stores, Boutiques Palacio, boutiques, independent restaurants, bistros, restaurant-stores, travel agencies and beauty clinics; as well as a number of restaurants and travel agencies integrated in some of the stores. The Company is also involved in the real estate, through the management and operation of shopping centers located in Coyoacan, Polanco, Puebla and Monterrey. In addition, it offers sales financing services and consumer credits to its clients.
