Gujarat Gas Limited reported audited standalone earnings results for the fourth quarter and standalone and consolidated earnings results for the full year ended March 31, 2017. For the quarter, on standalone basis, the company reported revenue from operations of INR 14,376.9 million compared to INR 14,136.6 million a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 415.2 million compared to INR 1,073.3 million a year ago. Profit before tax was INR 415.2 million compared to INR 817.1 million a year ago. Net profit after tax for the period was INR 331.4 million compared to INR 716.9 million a year ago. Basic and diluted profit per share was INR 2.41 compared to INR 5.21 a year ago.
For the full year, on standalone basis, the company reported revenue from operations of INR 52,378.7 million compared to INR 62,454.8 million a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 3,033.3 million compared to INR 2,793.3 million a year ago. Profit before tax was INR 3,033.3 million compared to INR 2,537.1 million a year ago. Net profit after tax for the period was INR 2,195.0 million compared to INR 1,883.3 million a year ago. Basic and diluted profit per share was INR 15.94 compared to INR 13.68 a year ago.
For the full year, on consolidated basis, the company reported revenue from operations of INR 52,378.7 million compared to INR 62,454.8 million a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 3,033.4 million compared to INR 2,793.4 million a year ago. Profit before tax was INR 3,046.9 million compared to INR 2,558.6 million a year ago. Net profit after tax for the period was INR 2,205.9 million compared to INR 1,900.4 million a year ago. Basic and diluted profit per share was INR 16.02 compared to INR 13.80 a year ago.
Gujarat Gas Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the natural gas business in India. Its natural gas business involves distribution of gas from sources of supply to centers of demand and to the end customers. The Company is engaged in city gas distribution, including sale, purchase, supply, distribution, transport, trading in natural gas, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and other gaseous form through pipelines, trucks/trains or such other suitable mode for transportation/distribution of natural gas, CNG, LNG, LPG and other gaseous form. The Company supplies piped natural gas for domestic usage to around 18.90 lakh households across its operating locations. It has 27 city gas distribution licenses spread across 43 districts in six states and one Union territory across the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
