Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. Reports Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2022

Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 2,344 million compared to USD 1,873 million a year ago. Net income was USD 940 million compared to net loss of USD 168 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.36 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of USD 1.05 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.13 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of USD 1.05 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 4,154 million compared to USD 3,161 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1,366 million compared to USD 21 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 3.29 compared to USD 0.13 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.93 compared to USD 0.13 a year ago.
Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. is a holding company. The Company is engaged in the business of renting vehicles primarily through its Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands. It operates through two segments: Americas RAC and International RAC. Americas RAC segment provides rental of vehicles, as well as sales of vehicles and value-added services, in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. The International RAC segment provides rental and leasing of vehicles, as well as sales of value-added services in locations other than the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. It also owns and operates the Firefly vehicle rental brand and Hertz 24/7 car sharing business. It operates its vehicle rental business globally from approximately 11,400 Company-operated and franchisee locations across approximately 160 countries and jurisdictions, including the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and New Zealand.
