The Charlotte, N.C., conglomerate said Mr. Koutsaftes, who joined Honeywell in 2008 and has led its advanced materials business unit for the past four years, will serve as chief operating officer of the safety and productivity solutions segment until that date.

Mr. Koutsaftes, 52 years old, will also become a Honeywell executive officer on April 1.

Honeywell said it plans to appoint Mr. Waldron to another senior leadership role, adding that he will work with Mr. Koutsaftes on the transition over the next three months.
