This week I want to take you through a deep dive into sustainability. Sustainability has been IAA's core mission and purpose for nearly 40 years. We understand that sustainability is hugely important to you, our provider clients, as well.

So, what exactly IS sustainability?

It extends far beyond the environment. It's taking the steps needed to ensure that our business model and practices are responsible in every aspect of IAA's business. A big part of IAA's sustainability effort involves what's known as the Circular Economy.

The Circular Economy is all about reusing and/or recycling materials. IAA processes well over 2 million vehicles annually, giving them second lives and renewed purpose. We keep these vehicles out of landfills and ensure to extract the most value over their life. Additionally, by recycling these materials, we help minimize negative impacts to the environment by eliminating the need to extract raw materials to build new vehicles and component parts.

And that's just one aspect of sustainability. There's much more. Important elements that both IAA and our provider partners care deeply about: Corporate Governance; Social Responsibility; and Environmental initiatives. Getting more granular, it includes components like cybersecurity; labor practices; diversity, equity and inclusion; health and safety; supplier management; greenhouse gas emissions; and energy consumption.

To learn more about IAA's sustainability efforts in all of those areas, check out our recently published 2020 Sustainability Report. The report has lots of great information on what IAA is doing to help build a more sustainable future.

As always, stay healthy and safe. Thank you for your business. And we'll see you next time!

Steve Muscarello,
Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, IAA
