IBS Group Builds New Generation of IT Professionals with Master's Degree Programme

Ramsey, the Isle of Man, November 8, 2012 - IBS Group, has welcomed a new enrolment in the IBS master's degree programme designed to train professionals for the IT industry at two of Moscow's leading technical universities. The 40 students majoring in business software application will undertake internships at IBS to gain first-hand project experience, with the prospect of subsequently joining the company on a permanent basis.

Launched in 2006 by IBS IT Services, a subsidiary of IBS Group, the programme is run in collaboration with Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and the National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) to fill the most sought-after positions in the Russian IT industry. Students are selected by the company and the universities: IBS interviews every candidate, with successful applicants going forward to competitive entrance exams to secure a place on the programme.

Students who successfully complete the two year programme receive a diploma from MIPT or MISiS, and most are invited to pursue a career at IBS Group. In the six years since the programme's inception, IBS has helped to train more than 200 professionals.

Natalia Yechkalova, Director, IBS Academy: "The IBS master's degree programme is a key tool in recruiting young talent with expertise in our sector. We see the programme as a model for professional training geared to the needs of real business. This year, we are taking our efforts to a new level by adding the Information Business Systems Chair in the Business Informatics Department at the Higher School of Economics to the training programme we currently have with MIPT and MISiS."

The programme curriculum was developed with direct input from IBS Group experts involved in real projects, and a number of courses are delivered by IBS Group employees. It combines traditional and advanced methods and techniques, including case studies, business games, training workshops, vendor technology training, student projects, and computer-aided testing.

IBS has helped the universities to equip their facilities to deliver training in line with industry-leading technology standards, incorporating the latest IT systems and solutions into the programme. To fully immerse students into the practice of the IT business, IBS Academy gives lectures on a wide range of subjects, complemented by meetings with key Group employees and project leaders, tours of business units.
