Nottingham-based global supplier and developer of software products, Ideagen Plc, has announced it is to create 150 jobs over the next 12-18 months.

Ideagen develops software solutions to help businesses operating in highly regulated markets meet their QHSE (quality, health and safety and environment) and GRC (governance, risk and compliance) obligations and mitigate their risks.

From NASA to the NHS, Ideagen counts almost 6,000 global businesses as clients and the demand is growing.

CEO of Ideagen, Ben Dorks, explained: "The market for our products is growing as increasing numbers of businesses are using them to reduce the administrative burden traditionally associated with a variety of regulations and recommendations. Our products allow these processes to be streamlined, easily accessed by multiple people, and our cloud-hosting options make them portable and transferable.

"We operate across a number of industries, so although some of our clients have been badly hit by coronavirus, such as those in aviation, we've seen an increase in activity from companies in other sectors, such as life sciences and healthcare."

In May, Ideagen took centre stage when it supported the World Health Organisation, that was struggling with holding its World Health Assembly, an annual meeting that was expected to attract 4,000 delegates. One of Ideagen's products, PleaseReview, a document collaboration software package, allows multiple users to review, comment on and agree the wording of papers online without the need to be physically present. In addition, the package offers secure hosting in the cloud and a complete audit trail of revisions and comments, which meant that by offering this software free of charge to the WHO, Ideagen was able to facilitate the first ever digital World Health Assembly.

In August, Ideagen announced the acquisition of a significant competitor, Qualsys, for the sum of £15.6m. This acquisition brought with it the benefits of a £3m injection into R&D that Qualsys had made over recent years and allowed Ideagen to combine this with its existing range of products to offer the market a cutting edge, cloud-based eQMS (quality management system).

Last month Ideagen announced an 11th consecutive year of growth in revenue and EBITDA, despite the financial year including March and April when the biggest shock to the economy was seen.

Ben explained: "We moved quickly at the beginning of the pandemic to restructure our business. This strategy has worked really well for us and we now have a very solid foundation on which to continue to grow in the future."

And the next phase of that growth is being announced today. Over the next 12-18months, Ideagen will be creating 150 new jobs based in Nottingham. The jobs are all full-time, permanent positions and they will be across the business' Customer Support, Sales and Marketing functions. As well as roles for experienced professionals there will also be positions for new graduates and some apprenticeships are also being offered.

The new starters will be able to join the existing head office team in a state-of-the-art new office in Nottingham, which is also officially being opened today.

Ben added: "Nottingham is our home and we are very proud of this city. We are committed to being here for the long term and opening our fantastic new office in Ruddington today shows the strength of our commitment. While we can't all work in the office at the moment, we have a superb facility here for when people want to come back to an office environment and I very much look forward to that day!"
