IMC: Operating results for the year 2015

In 2015, IMC produced about 638 thousand tonnes of grain and oilseeds (-10% compared with 2014 year). Production decline was due to changes in the crop mix, namely with a reduction of the share of high-yield corn in the crop mix and the growing share of less productive crops such as wheat and sunflower. In addition, dry weather in the summer of 2015 had an adverse impact on the harvest of IMC's main crop - corn.

High yield of soybean was an important production achievement in 2015. For the first time in IMC's history of the cultivation of soybean, IMC's yield exceeded the average in Ukraine (IMC - 2.6 t/ha, the average yield in Ukraine - 1.9 t/ha). In addition, the soy grown by IMC in 2015 was with high protein content (40%).

The company's sales in the crop farming segment in 2015 increased by 18% to 763 thousand tonnes, including about 608 thousand tonnes of corn (+ 20% compared to the year 2014).

Besides, more than 82% of sales in the crop farming segment (629 ths. tonnes) were exported (+22% vs. 2014).

In 2015 milk production at IMC's dairy farms amounted to 19.2 thousand tonnes (-15% compared with 2014 year). The decrease in milk production volumes was associated with the implementation of the project on optimization of the cattle herd and culling the least productive animals (15% of the number of cows was culled). As a result of the project, the average milk yield in IMC increased by 2% compared to 2014 year, to 5.5 tonnes per forage cow.
