Impresa-Sociedade Gestora de Participacoes Sociais SA reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of 63,550,820 compared with 60,701,884 for the same period last year. EBITDA was 10,782,471 compared with 10,643,847 for the same period last year. Net profits were 4,724,418 compared with 4,089,770 for the same period last year. EBIT was 14,363,921 compared with 11,394,078 for the same period last year.
For the six months, the company reported total revenues of 119,349,073 compared with 112,346,241 for the same period last year. EBITDA was 16,397,363 compared with 14,239,106 for the same period last year. Net profits were 5,938,794 compared with 3,232,018 for the same period last year. Net debt was 191.5 million compared with 201.4 million for the same period last year. EBIT was 9,771,151 compared with 9,313,969 for the same period last year. Earnings per share were 0.0192 compared with 0.0192 for the same period last year.
Based on the results achieved in the first half of 2014, the IMPRESA Group reaffirms its conviction that it will achieve the objectives set: improvement of operational indicators, diversification of revenues, reduction of interest-bearing liabilities and an increase in net income.
Impresa, SGPS, S.A. is Portugal's leading communications group. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- operation of TV channels (82.2%): 8 channels operated (SIC, SIC Internacional, SIC News, SIC Radical, SIC Mulher, SIC K, SIC Caras et Txillo) at the end of 2021. The group also offers an activity of streaming exclusive content by subscription (OPTO) and operation of a sports content portal (ADVNCE);
- publishing of newspapers and magazines (12.5%): weekly newspapers Expresso, Blitz, Boa Cama Boa Mesa, Tribuna, etc.;
- other (5.3%): primarily publishing and distribution of multimedia and digital content (operating primarily through the portals Olhares and InfoPortugal).
Net sales break down primarily by source of income into sales of advertising space (65.4%), sales of TV subscriptions (16.8%) and sales of newspapers and magazines, individually or by subscription (5.4%).
Portugal accounts for 95.9% of net sales.
