Inversiones La Construcción S.A. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2018. For the quarter, revenue was CLP 220,952 million against CLP 198,847 million a year ago. Operating income was CLP 6,080 million against CLP 7,497 million a year ago. Profit before tax was CLP 8,673 million against CLP 11,600 million a year ago. Profit from continuing operations was CLP 7,833 million against CLP 11,254 million a year ago. Total net cash from operating activities was CLP 106,419 million against total net cash used in operating activities of CLP 53,626 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the parent company was CLP 22,788 million against CLP 39,594 million a year ago.
For six months, revenue was CLP 428,751 million against CLP 389,189 million a year ago. Operating income was CLP 15,055 million against CLP 14,526 million a year ago. Profit before tax was CLP 37,632 million against CLP 26,535 million a year ago. Profit from continuing operations was CLP 29,349 million against CLP 24,952 million a year ago. Total net cash from operating activities was CLP 223,449 million against total net cash used in operating activities of CLP 19,276 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the parent company was CLP 58,445 million against CLP 72,666 million a year ago.
Inversiones la Construccion SA (ILC) is a Chile-based company primarily engaged in the life insurance sector. The Company's activities are divided into six segments: Fund management (AFP), which administrates pension funds through AFP Habitat; Private health insurance (Isapre), which administrates health insurance contributions through Isapre Consalud; Insurance, which offers individual and collective life insurance policies through Confuturo and Corpseguros, among others; Healthcare, which manages a network of private hospitals and clinics through Red Salud; Bank, which provides financial services for retail and commercial consumers through Banco Internacional, and Other, which includes operation of private schools, as well as provision of information technology (IT) outsourcing services, among others. The Company is a subsidiary of Camara Chilena de la Construccion Asociacion Gremial.
