Titian Software and ITOCHU Techno-Solutions announced the deployment of Titian's Mosaic Sample Management Software to support Kyowa Kirin's Central Sample Bank at their R&D site in Shizuoka, Japan. Mosaic offers three key benefits to Kyowa Kirin, which has made the strategic infrastructure purchase of the software: a single tool that manages both the company's small molecule library and its biologics inventory; integration interfaces that can bring a wide range of lab automation into managed workflows; future-proofing - Mosaic is a comprehensive product that can be easily adapted and supported to meet changes in life science workflows and needs. This also results in a lower lifecycle cost than regularly updating the in-house solution it replaces.

Kyowa Kirin currently uses Mosaic to integrate multiple types of liquid handlers into a managed workflow for efficient sample processing. Samples are securely tracked in and out of manual freezers. Mosaic also provides Kyowa Kirin's researchers with inventory search and sample requesting tools backed up with a comprehensive audit trail.

This is the second major implementation of Mosaic software for a Japanese pharmaceutical company and the first in partnership with ITOCHU Techno - In Japan, Titian Software works with ITOCHU Techna-Solutions, a forward-thinking company that is an excellent local partner. Together, the companies provide a best-of-breed product used by 15 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, backed up by rapid implementation and excellent support.
