MONETT, Mo. (AP) _ Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (JKHY) on Monday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $72 million.

The Monett, Missouri-based company said it had net income of 94 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 88 cents per share.

The payment processsing company posted revenue of $422.4 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $431.9 million.

Jack Henry expects full-year earnings to be $3.85 to $3.90 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.76 billion to $1.77 billion.

Jack Henry shares have declined slightly more than 2% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $158.29, a fall of nearly 4% in the last 12 months.
