Japan Tobacco : JT to launch a new white Ploom TECH device

~ With two new tobacco capsule flavors from the Pianissimo brand ~

Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE:2914) announces today that it will launch two new tobacco capsule flavors, 'Pianissimo Strawberry Mango Pink Cooler for Ploom TECH' and 'Pianissimo Lemon Tea Gold Aroma for Ploom TECH', which will be gradually available across Japan from December 3rd, 2018. At the same time, JT will launch a new Ploom TECH Starters Kit, which consists of a white Ploom TECH battery and a white USB docking station (charger).

The two flavors are JT's first Ploom TECH tobacco capsules from the Pianissimo brand.
'Pianissimo Strawberry Mango Pink Cooler for Ploom TECH' is a menthol product offering a mixture of ripe strawberry and mango flavors. 'Pianissimo Lemon Tea Gold Aroma for Ploom TECH', a regular product, is characterized by a lemon tea flavor with a fruity aroma.

Ploom TECH is a tobacco infused vapor product with low-temperature heating technology unique to JT. The technology, which does not involve combustion or direct heating of tobacco, enables Ploom TECH to offer a clear taste with no smoke, smoke smell or ash and no negative impact on the surrounding air quality. JT decided to launch these two tobacco capsules from the Pianissimo brand, which feature fruity flavors, as Ploom TECH can provide clear taste with various flavors. To complement the brand's rich colorful image, these two products are sold with a white cartridge.

The launch of a white Ploom TECH device will enable customers to own an all-white Ploom TECH package by purchasing both the device and Pianissimo tobacco capsule products.

JT has been receiving positive consumer feedback about Ploom TECH from both adult men and women who credit the product for having 'no smoke smell' and being 'easy to use'.

JT aims to gain 40% market share in the T-vapor(*1) category in Japan by the end of 2020, by providing a wider range of choices that satisfy the varying needs of consumers.

Adopting an exclusive regular product cartridge

'Pianissimo Lemon Tea Gold Aroma for Ploom TECH' will contain an exclusive regular product cartridge, which enables the roasted taste to last longer.

In order to enjoy the taste and aroma to a maximum extent, regular products should be used with its exclusive cartridge. The new regular product cartridge has pale yellow wrapping and the resin inside.
