Jardine Strategic Holdings Ltd. said Thursday that its underlying net profit declined in the third quarter compared with the prior year, as the coronavirus pandemic continued to hit its businesses.

The Asia-focused investment company said that there was some improvement in performance compared with the second quarter, but still expects performance to remain weak for the remainder of the year as government support is reduced and the pandemic continues to hurt business and communities.

"The group is, nonetheless, resilient and well-positioned to achieve its long-term growth objectives, and its balance sheet and liquidity position remain strong," Jardine Strategic added
