Hong Kong - Johnson Electric launches LuMEMS (leveling using MEMS) for safer and more comfortable driving at night.

LuMEMS is now market-ready and brings automatic levelling into the digital age.

With LuMEMS, vehicle pitch sensing is achieved through an electronic chip, removing the need for traditional mechanical sensors.

Using accelerometers and gyroscopes, LuMEMS measures the static pitch from the load distribution with extremely high precision.

AML SYSTEMS specifically developed a full set of robust algorithms to determine the vehicle pitch angle and ensure optimal operation of the headlamp leveling motors.

While the vehicle is in motion, LuMEMS continues to dynamically adjust the beam in real time. When accelerating, the beam of the vehicle rises and disturbs the oncoming traffic. LuMEMS solves this issue by computing the MEMS data at 100 times per second to keep the beam fixed in the optimal position. This eliminates glare and allows appropriate illumination at all times.

In emergency situations, such as when braking hard, beam range is drastically reduced, limiting the driver's visibility. Thanks to the MEMS sensors, LuMEMS can detect this deceleration before the chassis tilts down.

This particular advantage enables LuMEMS to react without any lags and keeps the danger zone fully visible.

LuMEMS, with its best-in-class response time, is the new standard for automatic leveling, significantly improving driver comfort and safety.

Johnson Electric aims to improve the quality of life of the people we touch through more comfortable, safer and healthier products. We have a vision to be the world's definitive provider of innovative and reliable motion systems.
