Jollibee Foods Corporation reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was PHP 35,586.12 million compared to PHP 29,033.31 million a year ago. Revenue was PHP 37,201.43 million compared to PHP 29,964.99 million a year ago. Net income was PHP 1,571.01 million compared to net loss of PHP 1,580.35 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 1.418 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of PHP 1.43 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 1.417.
For the nine months, sales was PHP 103,877.13 million compared to PHP 89,423.54 million a year ago. Revenue was PHP 108,571.48 million compared to PHP 92,729.23 million a year ago. Net income was PHP 2,699.36 million compared to net loss of PHP 13,543.79 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 2.439 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of PHP 12.303 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was PHP 2.436.
Jollibee Foods Corporation is a Philippines-based company, which is involved primarily in the development, operation and franchising of quick service restaurants (QSRs) under the trade names Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Yong He King, Hong Zhuang Yuan, Mang Inasal, Burger King, Highlands Coffee, PHO24, Smashburger, Tim Ho Wan, Tortazo, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Panda Express, Yoshinoya, and Milksha. Its segments include food service, franchising and leasing. The food service segment is involved in the operations of QSRs and the manufacture of food products to be sold to Company-owned and franchised QSR outlets. The franchising segment is involved in the franchising of the Company's QSR store concepts. The leasing segment leases store sites mainly to its independent franchisees. The Company has approximately 1,204 Jollibee stores nationwide, of which 768 were franchised and 436 were Company owned. In addition, outside the Philippines, it has approximately 378 stores.
