Just as the morning sets the mood for the rest of the day, we believe that this new year will also be known by its good start. We are happy to share the news that our first photovoltaic power plant was deployed at the end of 2022.
The use of renewable energy sources and investment in energy efficiency are the basis of the European Green Plan in achieving the climate neutrality objectives. KONČAR - D&ST is also striving to make a concrete contribution with its investments in the green economy and in the sustainable energy transition on the path of transformation towards a low-carbon economy. In this sense, during 2022, in addition to the first medium power transformer for which a Carbon Footprint of Products (CFP) verification certificate was issued, with which KONČAR - D&ST ensured the resources for calculating and consequently reducing the carbon footprint of the other part of its product range according to ISO 14067 (part of the ISO 14060 standard), the first verifications were issued back in 2019 for distribution transformers, at the end of 2022 the photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 1.1 MW was successfully completed and deployed.
The production of electricity will take place in 4,266 modules placed on the roofs of the factory, and it is estimated that they will produce 1,456.16 MWh annually. It is interesting to note that over 7,000 m2 of the roof area is covered with panels. The electricity produced will cover about 30-35% of our power consumption.
In addition to the rationalization of the overhead costs of the company, it is estimated that through the implementation of this project, CO2 emissions will be reduced by about 30-35%, or 480,532.80 kgCO2 annually.

Koncar Distributivni i Specijalni Transformatori dd is a Croatia-based company active in the electrical sector. It produces and distributes medium power and special transformers up to 100 megavolt ampere (MVA) and 170 kilovolt (kV). The Company's product range includes oil immersed distribution transformers, dry type distribution transformers, medium power transformers and special transformers, such as rectifier and converter transformers, locomotive transformers, transformers for ironworks, earthing transformers, reactors, traction transformers for fixed installations and rolling stocks, furnace transformers, autotransformers and reactors for different applications, among others. The Company sells its products domestically and abroad: in European countries, such as Sweden, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Spain, Albania, Slovenia, among others, Gulf Countries, Near East, Africa and America.
