NÜRNBERG (dpa-AFX) - Automotive supplier Leoni needs a new boss. Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper will leave the company at the end of March to take on a new role at short notice, Leoni announced Monday evening. "The supervisory board will immediately start talks to arrange the succession."

Cable specialist Leoni employs about 100,000 people and generated sales of 5.1 billion euros in 2021. Supervisory board chairman Klaus Rinnerberger said Kamper took over in 2018 in a difficult situation and proved himself as a crisis manager. He said he very much regretted his departure.

Kamper said, "I would have liked to complete the restructuring of this promising company as CEO. However, the challenge presented to me is the logical continuation of my professional career. I couldn't say no to that." He did not disclose where he was going./rol/DP/ngu
