Brentwood, Tenn. (January 3, 2019) - LifePoint Health®, a leading healthcare company dedicated to Making Communities Healthier®, has promoted two veteran company leaders to new roles:

  • James (Jamie) Carter, FACHE, who previously served as chief operating officer (COO) of LifePoint's former Eastern Group of facilities, has been promoted to Eastern Division president; and
  • Cherie Sibley, who previously served as COO of the company's former Central Group of facilities, has been named Central Division president.

As Eastern Division president, Jamie Carter is responsible for LifePoint's facilities in Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, including all Duke LifePoint Healthcare facilities. Carter has more than 20 years of progressive senior leadership experience in healthcare. Prior to joining LifePoint in 2015 as Eastern Group COO, he served as administrator of Conway Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas and as COO of Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, among other executive roles. During his career, he has led significant initiatives in the areas of patient- and family-centered care, physician recruitment and facility renovations. Carter is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In her role as Central Division president, Cherie Sibley is responsible for LifePoint's facilities in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Sibley has been with LifePoint since 2001. Prior to her most recent role as Central Group COO, she served as Central Kentucky East market president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky. Additionally, she has held numerous leadership roles across the company, including serving as COO of Danville Regional Medical Center (now Sovah Health - Danville) in Danville, Virginia, and chief nursing officer (CNO) and COO of Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama. Sibley has a robust history of driving significant improvements in physician satisfaction and engagement, cultivating a strong culture of safety and spearheading improvements in the delivery of quality care. She is also an at-large board member for the American College of Healthcare Executives-Middle Tennessee Chapter.
