Lifepoint Health has named Jennifer Alderfer, MBA, MHA, FACHE, its Western Division president, effective October 30. In this role, Alderfer will oversee the operations of 18 hospital campuses in Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington. Alderfer comes to Lifepoint from Intermountain Health, where she served in both system and hospital leadership roles as president of the Montana/Wyoming market and president of St.

Vincent Healthcare. She joined Intermountain from SCL Health, where she led service line growth efforts, community partnerships and development projects that contributed to overall system growth and served in roles including system transformation officer and president of Good Samaritan Medical Center, based in Lafayette, Colo. Prior to SCL Health, Alderfer spent nearly two decades in hospital leadership at HCA as chief executive officer, chief operating officer and other administrative positions at medical centers in Colorado and Kansas.

Board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Alderfer earned a master?s degree in business administration and a master?s degree in health administration from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a bachelor?s degree in biology with a minor in Spanish from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She is an active member of the ACHE, having been a Regent for the state of Colorado and member of the ACHE Higher Education Committee, and currently serving as a member of the ACHE Nominating Committee.
