WEST WOKING, Britain (AP) _ Linde plc (LIN) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $372 million.

The West Woking, Britain-based company said it had profit of 74 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $3.10 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.98 per share.

The gas supplier posted revenue of $8.46 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $8.38 billion.

For the current quarter ending in October, Linde expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.85 to $2.95.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $11.73 to $11.93 per share.
