LUZ SAÚDE Echocardiography Laboratory Obtains European Re-accreditation Until 2021
04-04-17The Echocardiography Laboratory of Hospital da Luz Lisboa obtained re-accreditation from the European Association of Echocardiography until 2021, for the application of its main techniques - namely transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography (under pharmacological and effort stress).
The Echocardiography Laboratory of Hospital da Luz Lisboa, coordinated by cardiologist and professor Nuno Cardim, was the first in Portugal to be evaluated and to receive accreditation by this European association in 2011.
The European Association of Echocardiography, created in 2003 in the scope of the European Society of Cardiology, is a reference in the area of Cardiology, being responsible, among other initiatives, for the introduction of extensive and thorough accreditation and certification processes.
