AURORA, Ontario (AP) _ Magna International Inc. (MGA) on Friday reported second-quarter net income of $424 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Aurora, Ontario-based company said it had profit of $1.40.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.44 per share.

The automotive supply company posted revenue of $9.03 billion in the period.

Magna expects full-year revenue in the range of $38 billion to $39.5 billion.

Magna shares have climbed 19% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 73% in the last 12 months.
