Maruha Nichiro Corporation reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2017. For the period, the company reported net sales of ¥708,398 million against ¥675,379 million a year ago. Operating income was ¥21,991 million against ¥25,474 million a year ago. Ordinary income was ¥25,101 million against ¥26,326 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent was ¥15,702 million against ¥16,671 million a year ago. Overseas segment is involved in the sale of marine products and processed foods, as well as the producing and sale of surimi. Processing segment is involved in the manufacture and sale of frozen foods, canned foods, fish sausages, chikuwa, desserts, seasonings, freeze-dried products, and chemical products. Logistics segment stores and transports frozen products. The Company is also involved in the feed storage, shipping, real estate business, as well as the manufacture and sale of furs and pet foods.
