We have pleasure in reporting that our oenologist, Andrea Dal Cin, gave a talk at the prestigious 'Wine in Innovative Tradition' event organised as part of the XXth edition of the Festa Artusiana on 30 June at Forlimpopoli. His theme will be the most important technological developments in the production of wines made with semi-dried grapes (the Appassimento method) as identified by the Masi Technical Group.

The event is organised under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and the Department of Science and Technologies for Food Production at Bologna University. Our Technical Group has been asked to speak in a debate which has included interventions from many authoritative voices in the wine world, including Michele Alessi, Director of the Ministry of Agricultural Policies, and Giuseppe Martelli, President of the National Committee of Wines. A tasting of Masi wines - Rosa dei Masi and Costasera Amarone - conducted by Andrea Dal Cin has concluded proceedings.

The Masi Technical Group (MTG) was founded in the mid-1980s and has an ongoing task of research and experimentation, acting in collaboration with national and international public bodies and universities. The MTG's most important work includes studies of the Appassimento technique, defining tipicity and creating the modern style of Amarone that has led to its international success.
