SECOND TRANSPARENCY REPORT

At Mercado Libre, the limits are our challenges, and our former goals become a starting point for our next steps. Every day we do our best to go one step farther. In this second Transparency Report, apart from updating our previous report with data from the first semester of 2021, we introduced a new chapter: For the first time ever, we are sharing the user information requests which we comply with under the law..

In our first report published in May, 2021, our emphasis was on our vocation of deepening our users' reliability throughout the region, by taking our corporate practices to a new level.

In this second report, we have extended the scope of the information shared with our users, authorities, and civil society, including:

  • How we comply with user information requests.
  • How we protect our product and platform security.
  • How we protect our intellectual property rights.
  • How we manage users' personal data responsibly and securely.

to optimize our cooperation processes with public authorities, which are responsible for the prevention and investigation of illegal activities. We get involved and contribute to judicial and administrative investigations ensuring to protect citizens' rights.

For several years, Mercado Libre has been encouraging digital communication flows that allow notifications to arrive efficiently and on time. Such communication channels save precious time to authorities, and at the same time help us manage the orders we receive in a more proper and accurate way.
