Meyer Burger Technology : New CFO for Meyer Burger Technology Ltd

Jürgen Schif­fer (*27. 06. 1966) is an ex­pe­ri­enced fi­nan­cial ex­pert fo­cus­ing on re­port­ing, ac­count­ing, trea­sury man­age­ment and tax law. In re­cent years, the grad­u­ate banker has held se­nior fi­nance and CFO po­si­tions at Eu­ro­pean com­pa­nies on a man­date basis.

In ad­di­tion to his core com­pe­ten­cies in Fi­nance & Con­trol­ling, Jürgen Schif­fer has gained sig­nif­i­cant ex­pe­ri­ence as a man­age­ment con­sul­tant and in­terim man­ager in deal­ing with com­plex turn­around sit­u­a­tions. He is fa­mil­iar with com­pany analy­ses, the de­sign of qual­ity as­sur­ance processes and the de­vel­op­ment of re­port­ing struc­tures. The re­spon­si­bil­i­ties of the new Chief Fi­nan­cial Of­fi­cer (CFO) in­clude trans­form­ing the ex­ist­ing struc­tures and align­ing re­port­ing with Meyer Burger's new busi­ness model as a tech­no­log­i­cally lead­ing man­u­fac­turer of solar cells and solar mod­ules. Jürgen Schif­fer is al­ready fa­mil­iar with the solar in­dus­try from his pre­vi­ous work for solar com­pa­nies such as Con­ergy AG and Q-Cells AG. When he takes up his po­si­tion on 1 Oc­to­ber 2020, he will also be­come a mem­ber of the Ex­ec­u­tive Board.

Chair­man of the Board of Di­rec­tors Franz Richter says: 'Jürgen Schif­fer, with his pro­found fi­nan­cial knowl­edge and ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in trans­for­ma­tion processes, is the ideal per­son to ac­com­pany Meyer Burger in the up­com­ing growth phase.'

Schif­fer suc­ceeds the cur­rent CFO, Man­fred Häner, who will soon reach re­tire­ment age. He as­sumed the role of CFO a good two years ago. The Board of Di­rec­tors thanks Man­fred Häner for his great con­tri­bu­tion to the trans­for­ma­tion process and wishes him all the best for the fu­ture.
