LAS VEGAS (AP) _ MGM Growth Properties LLC (MGP) on Tuesday reported a key measure of profitability in its fourth quarter. The results fell short of Wall Street expectations.

The Las Vegas-based real estate investment trust said it had funds from operations of $169.6 million, or 57 cents per share, in the period.

The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 58 cents per share.

Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization.

The company said it had net income of $41.5 million, or 31 cents per share.

The real estate investment trust posted revenue of $194.3 million in the period, which met Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported funds from operations of $703.7 million, or $2.26 per share. Revenue was reported as $768.4 million.

The company's shares have climbed 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen slightly in the last 12 months.
