Misumi Group : MISUMI USA Opens Los Angeles Distribution Center to Facilitate Sales, Shipping and Engineering Support in Western U.S.

New 34,000-square-foot facility in Torrance, California expands company's U.S. presence to accommodate growing customer base, will soon offer in-stock mechanical parts.

MISUMI USA, Inc., a subsidiary of MISUMI Corporation, part of MISUMI Group, Inc. (Tokyo: 9962), is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new Los Angeles Distribution Center. Located in an industrial park in Torrance, California, the 34,000-square-foot facility's proximity to Los Angeles International Airport will facilitate cross-docking of MISUMI's Factory Automation products flown in from Japan. In addition to ample warehouse space, the new facility includes office space to house a cadre of the company's Technical Support and Inside Sales professionals.

According to Yoshihiro Kaneda, General Manager, Factory Automation of MISUMI USA: "The grand opening of our Los Angeles Distribution Center marks a significant milestone as we continue to grow our U.S. customer base. The new center will help reduce lead times and freight shipping costs and, by supplementing our centrally located distribution capabilities in the Chicago area, it will allow us to continue to serve customers with the responsiveness and rapid delivery times our customers expect and rely on."

In Phase One of the MISUMI USA expansion plan, the new distribution center will be largely devoted to cross-docking of products. Phase Two, scheduled for the near future, will allow for stocking of components which comprise much of our next-day delivery program.
