Moderna announced today that its CEO, Frenchman Stéphane Bancel, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), achieving one of the highest honors for achievement in the field.

The director is being honored for his contributions to the 'development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, including the COVID-19 vaccine'.

In the thirteen years since he joined the company, Stéphane Bancel has led Moderna from start-up to global commercial enterprise.
