Groupe BPCE has joined the Confédération des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (CPME) as an associate member. This is the first time that a banking group has joined this leading professional organization representing SMEs in France on a national level.

' The Group wished to become an associate member of the CPME, in order to pursue at national level a dialogue that is already particularly fruitful at local level' says the Group.

' For 14 years, the Banques Populaires have been the leading banks for businesses in France; the Caisses d'Epargne have affirmed in their 'Pacte Utile' their commitment as a universal bank to all their customers in the regions' adds the group.

For Nicolas Namias, Chairman of the Management Board of BPCE: 'Groupe BPCE, the second largest banking player in France, wished to join the CPME in the continuity of the relationships of trust and proximity maintained on a daily basis by the Banques Populaires and the Caisses d'Epargne with small and medium-sized businesses. This commitment is a first for a banking player, and testifies to our commitment to our entrepreneurial customers and to the economic vitality of every region in France. '.
