NCC Group CEO, Rob Cotton, is to appear at the Institute of Directors' (IoD) North West Annual Conference to speak to delegates about the importance of cyber security in an uncertain global environment.

Taking place on Thursday 2 February at Manchester Airport's Raddisson Blu, this is the IoD's thirteenth annual conference and for the second consecutive year has the theme of disruption.

Hosted by inclusive leadership expert, Andi Keeling, the speaker line-up will cover a wide range of topics including social prescriptions, Brexit, augmented reality and liquid thinking.

Cotton spoke about cyber security at the IoD's national conference last Autumn and is looking forward to discussing his experience as the CEO of one of the world's largest cyber security businesses with delegates at the event.

He said: 'Disruption brings huge opportunities for businesses, but as we exploit technological advances we must guard against the risks too. Cyber security is the biggest threat to businesses in 2017 and it's crucial that directors take responsibility and educate themselves about the risk.

'With the new data protection regulations on the horizon which bring with them the threat of significant fines for data breaches, there is no better time for executives to be proactive and get a grip of the cyber risks their businesses face.'
