ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Federal assistance for PPL Electric Utilities customers to help with their electric bill is still available, but time is running short. Customers should take action now.

The federal government's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides grants to households to help with home energy bills or to pay off past-due balances. Customers who meet income guidelines should apply as soon as possible. Importantly, customers don't need to have a past-due balance to apply.

'With increasing costs for many of our daily necessities and the colder winter temperatures, we understand our customers may be facing financial struggles,' said Melinda Stumpf, director of Customer Programs at PPL Electric Utilities. 'We want to help our customers stay safe and comfortable throughout this season, and we're here to help.'

LIHEAP offers up to $2,000 in grants to help homeowners and renters with winter heating bills. Learn more and find out if you're eligible at pplelectric.com/liheap.
