Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Limited announced that the Board of Directors of the Company has appointed Mr. Gurcharan Das as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company, for a period of five years, with effect from September 1, 2022. The said appointment is subject to approval of Shareholders of the Company. Mr. Gurcharan Das is an author and a management consultant.

He graduated with honors from Harvard University in Philosophy and later attended Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, where he is featured in three case studies. He was CEO, Procter & Gamble India and later Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Worldwide (strategic planning). In 1995, after a 30-year career in 6 countries, he took early retirement to become a full-time writer.

He is the author of the international bestseller, `India Unbound', which has been published in many countries and languages and filmed by the BBC. His other literary works include ­ `The Difficulty of Being Good', `Kama: The Riddle of Desire, `A Fine Family', `India Grows at Nights: A Liberal Case for a Strong State', `The Elephant Paradigm' and `Three English Plays'. He is a regular columnist for The Times of India and few other Indian language newspapers.

He also contributes periodically to Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Financial Times. He is also Chairman and Independent Director of P&G group Company viz. Gillette India Limited.
