Construction is underway on Buford Distribution Center 810, which
The 350,000 sq ft, build-to-suit, cross-dock distribution center will include: 17,500 sq ft of office space, 46 dock doors, mezzanine platforms, tenant-provided material handling equipment, including storage racking, structure supported conveyance systems, and robotic package retrieval systems.
The building structure will consist of concrete tilt-up walls, concrete slab-on-grade, and a metal joist and deck roof structure. Tilt-up construction involves a building's walls being poured in large slabs of concrete on the jobsite, and then tilted into position around the building's perimeter. This construction method benefits both cost and schedule.
Distribution centers ensure that consumers and businesses receive their products and goods in an efficient and timely manner, whether they're purchasing them at a brick-and-mortar store or online. These facilities are essential to the nation's economy, creating good jobs for the community and supporting the local economy.
