Andrey Vorobiev, Governor of the Moscow Region, awarded Vadim Yakunin, Chair of Protek's Board of Directors, with badge of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh. The ceremony took place on the fifth of June at the Moscow Region Government building, where the prominent figures of healthcare industry, education sector, sports and others received the honors as part of celebrations dedicated to Russia Day.

The badge was given to Mr. Yakunin to celebrate his achievements as the founder of Protek Group and Protek Charitable Foundation.

For more than 20 years Protek Group's business has been closely tied to the life of the Moscow Region.

'I'm very pleased to realize that the Moscow Region's authorities hold my personal work and the activities of Protek in such high regard. My whole adult life has been intertwined with Podmoskovye. I have graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny. And today, Protek is busy implementing various big and complex projects in the region. Here are the examples. We have 300 pharmacies, which are part of our Rigla retail network, that supply Moscow Region's residents with medicines. In Pushkinsky District, we have constructed the largest both in Russia and Europe hi-tech logistics center. In Sergiyevo-Posadsky District, we have set up one of our subsidiaries, a manufacturing site called Sotex. We have created 2,500 workplaces in the region and invested more than 10 billion rubles in business development,' said Mr. Yakunin.

Protek Charitable Foundation's program titled 'Health to the People!' received especially high praise from the Moscow Region's authorities. This program, which started in 2007, aims to provide medicines and financial support to healthcare and social protection institutions as well as socially vulnerable groups. Over its course, 243 institutions received medicines worth of about 300 million rubles. More than 32 million rubles were allocated to render financial support to educational institutions, veterans, disabled persons, disadvantaged and multi-child families. 71 family were provided with targeted support worth of above 11 million rubles to cover their disabled children's healthcare and rehabilitation bills.

'Our plans are closely linked to development of new major projects in the Moscow Region,' pointed out Mr. Yakunin.
