Rosseti FGC UES provides electricity to Amur Gas Chemical Plant

Rosseti FGC UES has created conditions to begin the construction of Amur Gas Chemical Plant (GCP) in the Svobodny priority development area (PDA). Approaches of the Amurskaya - Novokievka 220 kV line 1 km long to the applicant's substation have been energized and primary power of 36 MW applied. By 2022, to supply power to the enterprise, the company will build the Khimkombinat 500 kV switching point and approaches 10 km long from the existing Zeyskaya Dam - Amurskaya 500 kV transmission line. The consumer will get a total of 301 MW of power, with investments hitting over 5.3 bn rubles.

A switching point is an energy facility, which, unlike a substation, has no power transformer equipment and can only receive and distribute the power. For these needs, the Khimkombinat 500 kV switching point will have two independent 500 kV switchyards erected for the connection of four transmission lines.

The facility will be provided with highly reliable gas-insulated switching equipment, modern microprocessor-based relay protection systems, and remote data collection and transfer devices integrated with the automated process control system. Also, a digital power metering and billing system will be implemented.

The Amur GCP is constructed by SIBUR Holding. Presumably, this will be Russia's biggest manufacturer of polyethylene and polypropylene of most demanded grades. The production capacity will reach up to 2.7 mn tons of ethylene annually.

The project timing is synchronized with the construction of Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) by Gazprom, from which the factory will receive its stock material. In its turn, this enterprise is an important link in the process chain of natural gas supply to China by the Power of Siberia pipeline.

Rosseti FGC UES has already done the whole package of works to provide external power supply for Amur GPP. New 220 kV transmission lines have been built, as well as approaches from the existing Amurskaya - Novokievka 220 kV OHTL, linking the plant's own generation facility, Svobodnenskaya TPP, with the Unified National Electrical Grid. Also, Rosseti FGC UES has provided electrical power supply for seven compressor stations of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline in the Amur region and in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Both enterprises (Amur GPP and Amur GCP) are anchor residents of Svobony PDA - number one in terms of capitalization in the Far East. The total declared investment, according to the Far East and Arctics Development Corporation, exceeds 1.7 tln rubles, with plans to create over 4.1 thousand jobs.
