QL Resources Berhad Appoints Chia Lik Khai as Alternate Director, Effective April 1, 2021

QL Resources Berhad announced the appointment of Mr. Chia Lik Khai as Alternate Director with effect from April 1, 2021. This announcement is further to the general announcement made on 25 February 2021 in relation to the internal re-organization in compliance with MCCG2017 whereby Mr. Chia Lik Khai will be re-appointed as an alternate director to Mr. Cheah Juw Teck. Prior to joining QL Resources Berhad and Group, Mr. Chia Lik Khai was with McKinsey & Company in Shanghai, where he was an affiliate of Global Energy & Materials and High-Tech practice. He also possesses extensive management experience in high-tech, telecommunications and internet commerce. He spent eight (8) years in the semiconductor industry with Agilent and Avago Technologies in Silicon Valley, where he assumed multiple roles as R&D staff, New Product Manager and Marketing Manager. He subsequently joined QL as Group Corporate Development Director and was appointed as the Executive Director of a few subsidiaries of QL in 2009. He oversees the group strategic business planning and expansion. Mr. Chia is also the Deputy Managing Director of Boilermech Holdings Berhad.
QL Resources Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company. The Company's business segments include Marine-products manufacturing, Palm oil and clean energy, Integrated livestock farming, and Convenience store chain. The Marine-products manufacturing segment includes deep-sea fishing, manufacture and sale of fishmeal, surimi, surimi-based products and aquaculture livestock related product. The Palm oil and clean energy segment includes plantation, crude palm oil milling activities, downstream palm biomass technology, and provides renewable energy and sustainable environmental solutions. The Integrated livestock farming segment is involved in the distribution of animal feed raw materials, feed-milling, animal health supplement and related products and livestock farming. The Convenience store chain segment is engaged in the operations of convenience stores. It operates FamilyMart convenience store chain, which offers a range of wholesome ready-to-eat and easily prepared meals.
