Quectel Wireless Solutions, a supplier of IoT technology, has launched the SG865W-WF, an Android smart module, according to a company press release.

The module includes Qualcomm's QCS8250 system-on-chip, which was designed for industrial and consumer Artificial Intelligence IoT operations. The SG865W-WF module will also be marketed for AIoT applications such as video conferencing, cloud gaming, digital signage, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, robots and smart retail, according to the release.

In addition, the module can provide computing power for edge computing, enabling IoT applications to offer performance and deliver an improved experience. The SG865W-WF supports the Android 10 operating system, with the default on-board storage of 8GB LPDDR5 + 64GB UFS. The module also supports Wi-Fi 6.0, Bluetooth 5.1 and 2×2 Wi-Fi MIMO multi-antenna technology.

Quectel is based in Shanghai, China and was founded in 2010.
