REN renews the certification of the social responsibility management system 15.02.2021

REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais renewed the certification of the social responsibility system in accordance with the NP 4469-1 standard. The certification is extended to the following companies: REN SGPS, REN Elétrica, and REN Gasodutos; and was awarded by the Portuguese Association of Certification (APCER) as part of the development of ISO 26000, the first international standard on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The certification process, which took place between December 2020 and January 2021, had several stages, namely diagnosis, analysis, and review of internal documentation, including a prior internal audit conducted by an external entity.

With the renewal of the certification, obtained in January 2021, REN is once again recognised for its social responsibility management system in accordance with internationally accepted principles, which also allows for the credibility of its work regarding sustainability.

REN is committed to contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), created in 2015 by the United Nations. As such, REN promotes, supports and develops initiatives and projects in line with those goals which, out of the 17 SDGs, have been identified as priorities aligned with the company's sustainability strategy: quality education; gender equality; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructures; sustainable communities and cities; climate action; protecting life on Earth; and partnerships for implementing goals.
