Independenta SA is a Romania-based company primarily engaged in the manufacture of machinery for the metallurgy industry. The Company is also involved in the design, production and sale of equipment for the energy sector, roller chains for mining and agricultural sectors and hydromechanical equipment, as well as pneumatic, mining and precision mechanics machinery. The Company’s portfolio includes pot furnaces; welding and pipe shaping equipment; roller beds; induction melting furnaces; heating and secondary treatment furnaces; presses; cutting and straightening machinery; tanks; conduction pipes and tubes; hammer drills; telescopic columns; pneumatic vibrators; impact screwdrivers; pneumatic starters and grinders, and roller chains and short chain links, among others. As of December 31, 2011, Societatea de Investitii Financiare Transilvania SA held a 53.30% stake in Independenta SA.
