The mixed-use office development, will be named Bermondsey Yards and comprises commercial buildings at the intersection of Bermondsey Street and St Thomas Street and a former leather warehouse next to the Vinegar Yards market. The development will be designed to appeal to an increasingly diverse occupier market attracted by a combination of the vibrant environment and strong transport links.

As part of the deal, Sellar has been appointed as co-developer and the two firms will work in partnership to bring the scheme forwards which will see Aviva invest in excess of £100 million. The project will provide Aviva the opportunity to develop best in class buildings which also meet their target of high environmental sustainability.

Felix Rabeneck, director of Savills city investment team, says: 'We are delighted to have advised Aviva on this on this purchase which will see them working with Sellar to develop a scheme of the highest standards in terms of design, facilities and sustainability.'
