M.Video-Eldorado Group (MOEX: MVID, SFI holding 10.3% of the company), has announced that its retail development and expansion in the Russian regions will resume. In the first quarter of this year, the M.Video brand began testing a new store format, M.Compact, with a wide range of digital and home appliances located in an area of 500-600 square meters.

The new format has an assortment comparable to standard stores: about 4.5 thousand models of home appliances and electronics in the sales area. At the same time, such retail facilities require three times less investment to open due to the new approach to design and layout. The stores use vertical retail equipment with several tiers, allowing to present a greater number of products, including large-sized equipment, per meter of selling space.

Three M.Compact stores have already appeared in Moscow, Zelenodolsk and Kazan, and several more will open in the near future, including in Ishimbay and Votkinsk, where the group's stores will appear for the first time.

Stores in the M.Compact format are expected to reach their target profitability level as early as the first year of operation.

In 2022, M.Video-Eldorado retained the scale of its retail network almost in full: it currently has stores in 370 cities in Russia.
