Shiny Health & Wellness Corp. launched a one of a kind virtual pharmacist cannabis consultation pilot program called ShinyCare. The aim is to benefit customers with relevant information.

The Company promotes a wellness corner in three of its flagship adult use cannabis dispensaries: Windsor, Toronto and Ottawa. Plus, the ShinyCare pilot program is currently available in two stores: one located at 410 Montreal Road in Cornwall, Ontario and the other 1363 Woodroffe Avenue (College Square) in Ottawa. The new pharmacist platform provides customers seeking cannabis literacy via remote access to licensed Ontario pharmacist at Cornwall pharmacy for a live consultation by scanning a QR code with their mobile device.

Ontario was the first province to demand pharmacists complete a cannabis education course, detailing risks, dosage forms, and common side effects of the drug, and pharmacist on-call has successfully completed the accreditation. The Company announced the expansion of its retail strategy with a plan to acquire independent pharmacies with aspirations to synergize pharmacies with its adult-use cannabis stores. It remains part of retail go-forward strategy for 2023/2024, even if cannabis is not approved to be sold in pharmacies.

Over the long term, Shiny Health sees significant benefits to a pharmacist providing advice and dispensing cannabis to certain of customers. However, dispensing cannabis in a pharmacy will require certain regulatory changes so until that time see ShinyCare as a novel way of educating customers.
