Johannesburg, 6 October 2023: Sibanye-Stillwater Group (Tickers JSE: SSW and NYSE: SBSW) is pleased to report the appointment of Neal Froneman, the Group's Chief Executive Officer as Chairman of the World Gold Council (WGC), the industry body representing the world's leading global gold mining companies.

The WGC was established in 1987 as the market development organisation for the gold industry. Its purpose is to stimulate and sustain demand for gold, provide industry leadership and be the global authority on the gold market. Sibanye-Stillwater has been a member of the World Gold Council since June 2016.

The management and Board of Sibanye-Stillwater extend their congratulations to Neal, proudly noting that he is the first representative from a South African gold company to be appointed to this prestigious position.

World Gold Council CEO, David Tait, commented: "We welcome the appointment of Neal as the new Chairman. His wealth of experience in the industry will greatly benefit me and the WGC Board. I look forward to working with him in this new capacity, and to furthering our work to improve the gold market and demonstrate the valuable contribution responsible gold mining makes to the world and host communities."

Neal Froneman, CEO of Sibanye-Stillwater, expressed: " I am honoured to be appointed as Chairman of the World Gold Council, representing the world's leading gold producers. In a world undergoing change, the gold industry must continue its innovative and forward-thinking approach to remain relevant. I eagerly anticipate the challenge ahead as we build on the pioneering work the WGC has already undertaken."
